Submission

Proposals from both industry and academia are accepted. It must be clearly indicated in the text of the summary section (abstract) whether it is a contribution from industry or academia. The works can be written in Catalan, Spanish or English. For languages other than English, the summary section must also be included in English (both languages). The format of any submission is always in PDF, regardless of the format of the template used.

Accepted contributions will be included in the book of proceedings, published by UPCommons (indexed in Google Scholar). See the “Contribution Submission Process” section below for details on how to participate in the symposium as an author and speaker.

Work template:

To write the documents, you must use the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) conference proceedings template. You can find the instructions and download links for the templates in Word and LaTEX format here (see box below “Important downloads”).

System for sending contributions:

The submission process uses Easychair. Click HERE.

Author registration:

How to carry out the confirmation and registration process will be published later.

Contribution submission process:

The process of writing and reviewing the contributions will take place in three stages.

First, authors are asked to deliver an abstract type document with their work proposal and presentation at the symposium (see key date “Abstract submission”).

It must be clearly indicated in the text if it is a contribution from industry or academia. The document must follow the established template, but it is only necessary to include the title, the summary section and the keywords, without the need for any references. To ensure peer review anonymity, omit authors and affiliation. Approximate size, 500 words.

These abstracts will be reviewed by the scientific committee (see key date “Abstract acceptance notice”).

Second, from this review process, those accepted contributions are invited to be presented during the symposium.

The authors are then invited to optionally develop their abstract in the form of an extended abstract to be published in the symposium minutes (see key date “Submitting the extended abstract”). Its recommended size should be between 1500-2000 words, and a strict limit between 2-5 pages. The name and affiliation of the authors must be included.

What is the difference between an abstract and an extended abstract?

The nature and structure of the document may vary depending on its nature, coming from industry or academia. In the first case, a technical report format is expected, based on one’s own experience, and related to the thematic areas of the symposium. In the second case, studies are expected, whether qualitative or quantitative, always in accordance with scientific writing standards.

These extended abstracts will be sent and reviewed quickly, only to ensure that they follow the expected format and offer a small feedback, or proposals for improvement, in the writing.

Although this event does not require any registration of payment by all attendees (it is free), it will be necessary for the authors of accepted works to confirm attendance in advance once their work has been delivered. Once a work is accepted, the organization will notify the authors of how to do it.
